ATC Class at Scrapbooks in Lima

I did the first ATC class at Scrapbooks in January. I'm trying to get a bi-monthly ATC group together. We created 8 ATCS and I gave them stuff to make 2 more, with instructions to email me their creations. We had a busy, good morning! I am going to change the format a little bit starting with the next one, which will be in April. Some of the ladies creating their lovely ATCs

My Grandfather's Sewing Machine

Dad brought me my dearly departed grandfather's sewing machine. He's been gone for years, and this lovely machine sat in my grandmother's closet for years. When my gradnmother passed away, certain family members wanted to THROW IT AWAY!!! Can you beleive it?!?!!? dad saved it and it's been in his closet for a few years.

Gretchen & Milo TurnerMy grandparents owned a mens wear store here in Lima and also one in Defiance. Grandfather did the alterations...on this machine... And HE got it from his grandmother or mother or someone like that...from a family member, at any rate.

Some unmounted RUBBER here!! Stamp set on the left was from Hobby Lobby. I used them for a specific project. They are on EZ Mount foam. The others are tons of different types of keys. Lots of old fashioned ones. Some have been put on EZ mount, some not. Only used a couple of these. The sheet had a lot of duplicates, so I kept about half the sheet, and am selling the rest.

Ok I have a new giveaway. Since I've been on a sewing bender as of late, this is not a scrappy or art giveaway....

Do you like PINK? Do you like wieners....er, weiner dogs? Do you need to corral the crap in your purse? Then you just may like this one....

I've sewed a few purse organizers, from my own pattern. This one has a pocket on each end, a long slip pocket on the back, and 3 pockets on the front- the center one with a closure.

The whole thing is interfaced but with lightweight interrfacing, so it's not really stiff. I loaded it up with stuff- it holds a lot while not being huge. Handles on the end make it easier to pull it out to change purses.

Cute, don't ya think??

Class at Scrapbooks in Lima, March 27th

Sorry, I know the pics could be better!!!! I do a card class at Scrapbooks here in Lima each month called Card Utopia. We make 6 cards, most often with a variety of greetings. March's cards are all butterfly themed, and I will be bringing TONS of DIFFERENT sentiment stamps so your cards can say exacly what you'd like them to.

These first three cards are made with all Doodlebug card stock, Doodlebug flocked and doodlebug glittered papers. We'll do some stamping on these as well. The pic is a bit washed out- they are very bright and cheery in real life.

Here are two more from the set (not showing the 6th card!!). The card stock is Prism and Doodlebug. Doodlebug glitter paper, too!! The large golden butterfly is stamped and embossed in black on yellow Doodlebug card stock. We then paint it with Gold Lame Smooch!!

I have the machine, now I need the table. My dad brought me my grandfather's sewing machine, a lovely Singer 66...It's at the shop now being cleaned, tuned up, adjusted, and a new belt put on. I cannot WAIT to use it. This baby was born on 1922. There was still some super old thread (wooden spools, people!!), a zipper, and some other odds n ends in the bottom. So if anyone knows where I could find a table in PA, OH, IN, IL, or KY at a GOOD price, please do let me know! I'll post pics of the machine (and my grandfather, whom I miss very much) when the machine comes home.

I made this purse organizer today. same pattern as the first one, but different fabrics. This one is MINE! The black fabric has rows of weiner dogs wearing sweaters! it cracks me up! Lined with pink & white checked fabric. Pockets are the check and a pink flower print.One thing I did different on this one, was I put two little handles on it, to make it easier to grab to pull out of your purse. The idea of this thing is to put all the little things in it, so when you want to change purses it's a lot easier...Now hopefully I won't loose stuff. Some photos of the organizer filled up. It holds a lot for being so small...In the end pocket above I have a flashlight, hand wipes, and gum. In the front pockets below I have my mini art kit, pens, glue stick, ruler, eraser, white out roller thing. Oh! Something else different on this one- I put a little strap across the center pocket because that's where my art kit is gonna live and it was heavy enough to make the pocket REALLY sag.

Inside the center is my camera in its bag, my wallet, and sunglasses clipy thing. The end pocket is one full length pocket and all it has in it at the moment is my little pouch of store loyalty cards.

Sewed a Little Purse Organizer

This goes along with the purse for my dear friend Candy. It's about 7" long, 5" tall, and 4" wide. A few pockets on the front, one on each end, one long pocket on the back. So you can put all your little things in here, and when you want to switch purses, just lift the thing out and put it in the other purse.

I am doing the photo a day thing this year. I'm doing it old school though- with paper and stuff, not digi...I don't do digi! Yeah I know the photos could be better. Sorry. I am using the We R Memory Keepers 3-ring album in 8.5x11. The page protectors are divided into 3 places, so I have one day per slot (3 days per page). I have taken pics for each day but I need to print them off. My big ol' cat, Rosco, trying to fit into the shelf. What a dork.
This is the first 3 days. Gotta love Pete there, huh!!

Altered Tins

This is an Altoids Smalls tin. I used a piece of Sticky Back Canvas (Ranger) and sprayed it with Riptide Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels (one of my FAVE colors from them). I painted Smooch around the edge- Gold Lame, Pink, and Green. Then rubbed Fruit Punch Stickles around as well. Image is stamped with Staz On ink, and I used pink Smooch on her lips. White Ranger gel pen around the word. The metal piece is actually from a photo corner die from Spellbinders. I also painted around the lip of the lid with Bottle paint from Ranger, and rubbed the Stickles over the paint. The whole thing is sealed with 3 coats of CI Super Seal....scroll down to see inside!The inside was done with Fimo clay. Yeah, it's imperfect, but this was my 5th attempt and I wasn't going for #6!!! LOL I have paints in here I use a lot- 3 greens, 1 green Twinkling H2O, turquiose, 2 blues, 1 blue Twink, 1 yellow, 2 shades of red (one is Quinc red which makes a lovely pink with a lot of water), a pink Twink, 2 browns, and Chinese White. I want to get a bottle of white enamel and paint the lid inside so I have a white mixing space. **********************************************************************************

OK, ya know it's not often that I make something I TRULY love. I make stuff I like well enough, but not often something that makes me say "THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!"...This one makes me say "THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!". I LOVED the way this turned out.

This little baby is an bandaid tin w/handle from Provo Craft. It's inked with alcohol inks: Shell Pink, Wild Plum, and Citrus. more Shell Pink than anything. I sprayed it with sealer after inking it. Then stamped this lovely Tim stamp with black Staz On. Once it dried, sealed again. I painted the inside of the heart with the old Adirondack acrylics from Ranger (Lettuce). Once it was almost dry, I stuck the prima gem thing on it (it actually came with flowers and was meant to be a flower center). "Art" was cut from metal with a Spellbinders die. Same with the little swirly thing at the bottom. Swrly thing was inked with Lettuce alcohold ink (using the fillable pen!).

The back side... Wings are a rub on (Miriah Johnson). Heart is Grungeboard. Painted it white and added Worn lipstick and Black Soot Distress Stickles on it. The clock is one of those old 7 Gypsies (I think) pins- I just cut the pin off it. It's hard to see but the paper behind it has a dress form on it...Got it in a collage pack off Ebay YEARS ago.

The cute little heart at the bottom is an Elsie sticker. The create definition is from Junkits (Tim's old line). Felt fusion flowers from Queen & Co. Random beads! Pearls are from kaiser Craft...aren't they sweet? The beads and charms at the top are from Blue Moon Beads and Tim.

This lives in my purse with the little watercolor tin inside it along with: the paint brush in the photo with the wc tin, a water brush, little thing for water, toothpick, glue stick, folded up paper towel, and scissors. It's an art kit on the go!

Purse Tutorial, part 3

Now, you need to add the other velcro piece. Stand your purse shell up, and lay the strap across it. Look at where the button lands, and pin the stiff side of the velcro on right there. Sew it on.

I just realized I did not photo the strap! Well the strap is one long piece- 4" wide by 38" long. After you cut it, fold it in half, right side out, and iron it. Then, on the edge that isn't folded, fold the edges in about 1/4" and iron them down. Then go to your sewing machine, and stitch all the way around the strap- down both sides and along both ends.

Now, the tricky part...At least for me!

Now the whole thing's gotta be sewn together! Turn your purse shell inside-out. Put the strap inside the purse shell, making sure it's not twisted or turned, letting the ends hang outside the body of the purse. Do the same with the flap, making sure the velcro lines up. Turn your liner rightside-out. Now the two pieces should be right sides together. Pin around the top, and pin the strap and flap down as well. Sew around the top. I go around twice, and I hit the strap ends about 5 times.

Trim anything that needs trimming.

Now, remember that hole ya left in the liner? Guess what that's for! VERY CAREFULLY start pulling the purse through that hole. I know, it's a pain, and you'll think it's not gonna work, but be patient, it will.

Once the thing is all pulled through, the outside should be rightside-out, and you should see the pretty liner when you look inside. Strap and flap should be outside.

Now, go iron the top edge of the purse, all the way around.

Sew once around the top.

Wala!

Purse Tutorial, part 2

Sew the strap that goes across the purse to close it. Of course you could make yours wider if you wanted to... When I cut this, I did one of the outside fabric and one of the lining fabric. Sew the velcro on the lining fabric before you sew the two pieces together. So you want to:
1. Cut your two peices.
2. Sew the soft side of velcro on the side that will be facing the purse when it's closed.
3. Pin it RIGHT sides together, and sew the sides & ONE end. Trim the corners.
4. Carefully turn right side out.
5. iron.
6. Top stitch around the whole thing.
7. Hand sew the button on. Yes, your stitches will go through the velcro. It's OK.

Sewing the lining is simple. ALL STRAIGHT LINES baby! I cut all 4 sides from the lining fabric, and the bottom from the outter fabric. I also added some pockets inside, all from the outter fabric. If you'r doing pockets, be sure to put them on before sewing the lining together. Just decide where you want them, pin them on (wrong side of pocket to right side of liner) and sew them on. Then proceed sewing your liner together, RIGHT SIDES together. Leave a hole for turning later!! This is the liner looking at the outside:

This is the liner looking down inside. See the pretty matching pockets and bottom?

This is the outside of the purse. Sew rhe outside the same as the liner- Add your outside pocket FIRST. Then sew the outside together, RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER!

Purse Tutorial

Hey! This is my first tutorial...hopefully it won't suck too bad! I made a purse for myself, and my dear friend Candy (yes, that's her name, and no, she's not a stripper) loved it...So she was letting me borrow her machine cause mine is direct from Satan, and I told her I'd make her one if she bought her fabric. She wanted something a bit bigger than mine, so this is what I came up with.

The pattern is total red neck- It's just on computer paper, and VERY simple, all straight lines, because I really can't sew very well. if you click the pics, they get bigger, so you can read the measurements.

It took not quite a yard for the outside and not quige a yard for the lining. I used the HEAVY fuisable innerfacing, and I ironed it all on before I cut anything, so I didn't have to cut doubles.

There is also a piece of plastic in the bottom (sorry, I didn't photo that) between the outside and the lining to give it more stability. Wanna know what I used for the plastic piece?

I cut a plastic divider from a 12x12 Art Bin container. I use them for classes, and they come with these loose dividers that I normally throw away. They work FANTASTIC for this!

So pin and cut your (prewashed and ironed) fabric.............

No, not for the craptastic Ohio weather.
No, not because January makes me remmeber I need to loose 500 pounds.
No, not because my gas bill goes up.

But because of CHA. the winter show is bigger than the summer show, and I am always chomping at the bit to see what the new stuff's gonna be!!

Because in January I start scheming...er, planning for the year!

I have a few things in the works, a few things I am trying to get going, and about a billion and one ideas in my fat head! I can't sleep!

And if anyone knows a good, inexpensive computer guru, will ya send 'em my way? Because building this website may be the death of me, and I'm not ready to go yet!!

Distress Inks Storage

With 12 new colors coming out in a couple weeks, I knew my current DI case was not gonna work! I tried one of my beloved lunch boxes and that didn't work either! WHAAAA!!!

So I spied this little cutie. Only $1.00, and stinking adorable! It's an itty bitty laundry basket. Holds the current inks, my handle, and my foamies...With room to grow.

Beeswax Collage

I made this a couple yrs ago- after going to Ranger U.

It was loads of sun making this. I used a canvas covered masonite panel (LOVE working on those), painted it with the gold paint dabber, and used beeswax on it. Some of the wax I used To Dye For and colored it blue.

Day2: Distress Ink Colors: Antique Linen, Aged Mahogony, Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint. Stamps from Fancy Pants, Inkadinkadoo. LOVED making the rose!! What a coolio idea, and one I am sure I'll use often!!! Thanks, Tim!

Day 3: Alcohol ink colors- Stream, Pool, Cloudy Blue, Latte, Meadow, Denim. Stamp from Inkadinkado. This was WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too fun and easy and I have about 7 peices of plaid glossy card stock now!! LOL

TAG!!! days 4&5

Day 4: Distress Ink Colors- Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Fired Brick. I didn't have any of the bubbles (gotta order some!!!) so I used the front of the packaging from refills for the Tiny Attacher. cool, eh? Stamps are from Paper Artsy.

To make the bubble part (Tim's is a pin, mine is not, it's glued to the tag) I inked a piece of white cardstock and stamped the tree. Colored the tree a little bit, stamped the background image from the that onto a peice of cardstock and cut out "love", inked it, glued it. used Glossy Accents to glue the bubble to the card stock. Wrapped edges with silver foil tape. After it was glued down, I added Gunmetal Stickles over the foil tape. The photo corner was punched from metal. Embossed it with a Cuttlebig folder, added the white paint and Distress Stickles. The Merry Christmas piece is one of those olddddd Making Memories things that go on like an eyelet. Added white paint so the words stood out more. Hope ya like it!

Day 5: Distress Ink colors; Fired Brick, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo. Stamps from Paper Artsy, Stampers Annonymous, Stampabilities. The trim started out white and I inked it up with Vintage Photo!

Tag, You're It! Days 6,7,8

This is gonna take 2 posts. I spent yesterday afternoon working on Tim's tags. I did not do today's because i don't have any of the stuff except the ink and flowers, and I just don't think it would look as kewl....So, without further adoooooooooo

Day 8: Distress Ink colors: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Aged Mahogony, and Tea Dye. Stamps from Fancy Pants and Stampabilities. This was fun, cooking the vellum!! The only vellum I had was heavy gold stuff, so it didn't curl so well for me. but it looks cool anyhow!! :)

Day 7: Distress Ink colors: Tea Dye, Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogony. Stamps from Fancy Pants, Studio G dollar stamp. Tree is from the Seasonal Grungeboard set. Inked with Peeled Paint and has Peeled paint Distress Stickles on it, too.

Day 6: Distress Ink colors: Vintage Photo, Aged Mahogony. Reindeer is Seasonal Grungeboard, inked with Vintage Photo and with Vintage Photo distress Embossing Powder. stamps from Fancy Pants & Stampabilities.

This birdhouse was made with ranger goodness..Painted with the Bottle paint dabber, then with Fired Brick Crackle paint, rubbed with Fired Brick Distress Ink...Roof was painted with Bottle and VIntage Photo (crackle). Vintage Photo Distress stickles along the roof's edge. Picket Fence Crackle Paint around the base, with feathers, beads, and glitter.

The Bird was cut from the swirl embossed Grungeboard. Painted with Claudine Hellmouth's paint and inked with Coffee Archival ink.

At our last Puppy Kindergarten class, we had a costume party!!

Charlie was an Ohio State Cheerleader. She wasn't so thrilled about wearing something, let me tell ya!! But she looked so darn cute. I was a proud mamma!!

This is Lilly and her mamma (sorry, I forgot her name!). Lilly is a Goldendoodle (expensive mutt). I just called her "Doodle" for the longest time, I couldn't remember her name!! She came dressed as the vet!! She even had a little lable that said "Lilly Doodle, DVM". TOOO funny! she did the best out of all the pups at leaving her outfit on.

For some odd reason, EVERY PLACE around did trick or treat TONIGHT!! I mean, come on...Talk about cutting into my scary time and candy stash. Humph.

Halloween is my favorite time! It's so much fun- decorating, dressing up,candy, the leaves, candy...My kids are all older now and not so into it, so poor Mom had to drag them out tonight! LOL The puppies had a great time and are snoring loudly, but the kids..eh, they could've taken or left it!

Oh Charlie, she is such a gorgeous girl!!! She is shaping into a lovely dog. We have very few issues with her. She's still hyper- but she's a baby (6 months old) and her breed is pretty energetic. We've had to go back to going potty on a leash- she bolted the other day when someone was walking by and almost got hit by a car. Scared me so bad I was in tears.

We're taking her to PA over Thanksgiving to run on the farm.

Should be fun for her!!

Apple Hashbrowns

A little something I came up with tonight:

You'll need: 5 apples, 2 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp cinnamon.

Melt butter in skillet. Shred apples (peel and all!) and throw into skillet. Cook while moving around like you would hashbrowns for a minute or two. Add cinnamon & sugar, stir well. Eat. YUMMYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy potato soup

Yep, came up with this myself. It's fantastic!

8-10 large potatoes, scrubbed (peels on!) and cut into large chunks
1 onion, chopped
5 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled
3 cans of chicken broth
1 can cheese soup
1 block of cream cheese (low fat works fine!), room temp.
garlic & onion seasoning, or Mrs Dash

Mix together the soup and broth in a large pot. Add the potatoes, onion, and seasoning. Bring to a boil. cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer about half an hr.
Turn off the heat, stick the cream cheese into the pot, stirring to melt the cream cheese (it probably won't melt completely).
Stick your blender into the pot, and blend on high about 10 seconds. Remove blender, stir, eat. It's soooo good!! My kids ate it like crazy tonight.

Little Calendar in a Tin

This is for a swap on Flickr. This little tin came from Trader Joes with some (NASTY) mints in it. I took the lid off and painted it inside and out with Ranger's Dimensional Pearls. Glued a bunch of chip board together and stuck the little calendar to it (calendar from AIP Vippies), to raise it up so it's not in a black hole! Put magnets on the back so it can hang on the fridge, file cabinet,etc.

Well I got one of those free biz card offers from VistaPrint and took a lookie....I was able to create a lovely logo through them- with PINK in it! woohoo! I love it! So my biz cards have been ordered, other business things taken care of, and I am on my way.

I also have KITS for the pinky birdhouse a few posts down. Now you can get this in Pink, Red, Sky Blue, or Dark blue- just specify color choice when ordering. Also, the house itself may vary, due to supplier issues, but it will be at least the size shown, and if you're lucky, a bit bigger.

We had to put Max down 2 weeks ago. DANG that sucked but he was biting everyone, and attacking with absolutely no provocation whatsoever. It was awful.

Pete brings this little beastie home this morning. We think she's possibly an Austalian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. Just a little bitty thing. Still has puppy breath, itty bitty sharp front teeth, and wants to gnaw you and everything else. I think she should still be with her mamma, she has no bite control AT ALL.

We weren't in the market for another dog, but......

Updates Galore

First, I want to say THANK YOU to those who have sent me emails and prayers for everything that's been going on this month. It's been crazy and difficult but there have been so many blessing as well! I thank God that I was able to take care of my family through it all, and find peace in my heart with Bill and a lot of situations.

Secondly, I am going back to school! Yep! At the ripe old age of 34.............err, I mean 29. LOL I will be doing mostly online work, so it won't interfere with my beloved job at Scrapbooks. I can't wait! Looks like I will be starting the summer quarter, in July. My kids think I'm crazy but hubby is behind me and understands why I want to go back to school. I was planning to start in the fall but since I've taken June & July off from teaching it seems smarter to start in the summer, when I have a little more time go get into the swing of things. I am so excited!

Sticky Back Canvas Pin

I made this pin using Ranger's Sticky Back canvas. It's really cool stuff- thin but takespaint and ink and anything else ya wanna dish out beausifully. Also die cuts WONDERFULLY!

To make this pin I painted two peices of canvas- one pink and one red. I used Claudine's paints put out by Ranger. After they dried, I peeled the backing off each piece and stuck them together. Die cut with an older Sizzix die (daisy). Ran the biggest daisy through a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Bent some of the petals up (it remembers the shape!). put the layers together, stuck a scrap of grungeboard to the back, then stuck the pin back to the grungeboard. Glued a button to the center.

I painted the tips of the petals with Glossy accents and dipped them into clear glitter. I wear this at work, it gets lots of compliments.

Austin has a boo-boo

My darling 12 yr old broke his ELBOW today at school. a week or so ago, he fell on it playing football and it hurt for a couple days. Well today he jumped off the swings (ooh I used to do that!!) and landed on it again!!! school nurse called and when I went to get him, she looked very concerned. went to urgent care, got the x rays and wouldn't ya know it!!! Nice clean break right on the elbow. He goes for his cast tomorrow at noon. Thing about the location of the break- since the artery runs through there we have to keep an eye on it and make sure the pulse remains strong in that arm. What a way to start your summer!!

Bill passed away on Monday. He was supposed to be pulled off the ventilator today, and he passed away before I had to do that.

My aunt & her hubby are here and we've spent today cleaning the house. GOOD LORD! There's mors stuff in there than I even thought! LOL

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. They are deeply appreciated. We still have a rough few weeks ahead of us.

An Update

This is an email I sent out to family and a few close friends today.

Just thought I'd paste it here to give an update.

As you know, my father is in the hospital. We haven't spoken in years. 2 weeks ago he was found in his home in a diabetic coma. Tests have shown brain damage, a brain lesion, brain stem injury, and the kidneys have died. He has ben unresponsive, and in a medically induced coma. He and my brother downright hate eachother, and his sisters are hundreds of miles away.

I have been making all of his medical decisions, trying to find my brother, working out the details for his house, etc. I also have his little dog...Pete loves Max to peices and he will be living out his years with us.

We found my brother, thanks to Lois & Lori & Dawn....they placed an ad in the Defiance newspaper and he saw it and called me! yippee!

Sometime today or tomorrow Bill will be moved to palative care. I am having him taken off the ventilator on Wed.- waiting for his sister Mary to get here. Mary & I will also be going through the house and getting it packed up while she is here. I am sure that will be dificult- more for Mary than myself, I can imagine.

So Pete & the kids have been pretty much on their own the last 2 weeks and probably for more time to come. Pete has been wonderful (but ya already knew that, didn't ya! LOL) and Lois has been very understanding of my time away from the store, and is always trying to figure out a way to help me out. That means so much to me!!!

Just please keep my family in your prayers. Please keep my Aunts (Mary & Bonnie) in your prayers...They are losing their brother, and eventhough they aren't close, they are hurting. And all through this they've been more worried about me! And if it's in your heart to do so, pray for Bill...it's been the prayer of my heart that he did find God and we just don't know it. How awesome would that be!!!!

Eventhough it's far away (St. Rita's woulda been better for me!!) I am glad Bill is here at St. Vincent's- the nursing staff is outstanding and they have been taking great care of him and also very helpful to me. You can see that they really do care about the people they have to care for...and their families as well. Also in talking to the main Dr. yesterday, I found out he is a man of God and that makes me feel better in many ways.

You know I sometimes get aggrivated with people when they say "things happen for a reason"-there are so many things that seem like ther CANNOT possibly be a reason for them, but I have contact with my aunts again (and a weird little doggy! LOL!!) and that is very precious.

Been busy lately...Prayers appreciated

My father was found Tuesday, collapsed on the floor. He was in a diabetic coma. We are guessing since Monday sometime. His kidneys failed, he has a brain stem injury and other brain injuries. He has been on a ventilator, and is unresponsive to any stimuli. I have had to make some really tough decisions and have more to come, and in the middle of all of it I am trying to find my brother to let him know what is going on and he seems to be M.I.A. Yeah, it sucks. Big Time. Please keep myself and my aunts and brother and father in your prayers. I know he is in NOOOOO way a Christian, and not saved. I can only hope that in those last moments (or sometime none of us are aware of) that he did find God.

So this here blog may be neglected for awhile.

On another note we had the retreat at work this weekend, up in the lovely Sturgis, Michigan and it was sooooooooo wonderful. I really needed the break and I am glad I went (I actually was going to stay home). Look up Amigo Centre in Sturgis, Michigan, it's lovely.

Sick again!??!!

I mean REALLY people!!! I am normally a healthy chick aside from allergies which I manage nicely with certain medications...However this winter I have been sick more than I've been well, and this last time finally knocked me on my a$$.

I went to bed Wed. night fine and woke up Thurs. feeling kinda run down. By the time I left work Thurs night I was stuffed up and coughing. Couldn't sleep- I'd wake up choking because stuff was draining down my throat. Wake up Friday feeling like a freaking truck ran me over. Went in early, and all through the day just got worse and worse. EVERYTHING hurt. I was dizzy. Looked like crapola. Even our croppers were like GET AWAY!! LOL

Left work and went to urgent care. Walked out with 5 scripts!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ears, nose, etc all infected plus fluid in the lungs...Not quite pnemonia but on my way. ugh.

We had Pete's mom & dad here for the weekend and yeah, I was pretty useless. Got home Friday night, took my drugs, and crashed. I was in bed by 10 and didn't get up till around 1pm Sat. Made the rest of the food for easter dinner, said hi to the kids, made a quick batch of cookies with the kids, took my meds and went back to bed. Didn't get up till around 9 pm. Ate some leftover pizze, more meds, back to bed till we got up for church Sunday morning at 7:30.

I feel a lot better, have a voice again! yippee! Still stuffy and awful short of breath though.

We've been collecting food at the store! www.thescrapbooksuperstore.com We're having a GIANT, WALL - TO - WALL - SALE...the entire store is on sale and we have special extra discounts and fun stuff going on...It's been a blast! the sale, etc is going on till April 25th so come see us!!! Anyhow, the West Ohio Food Bank came and picked up a lot of food on Friday.

Inside the Pac Man lunchbox- Ribbon!!

Here is where the die cutting stuff lives. I got this shelving unit at Meijer for $30.00 (they were origioanlly around $140.00) because it was the display and the top shelf is slightly bent. I have dies in the mini plastic crates on top. I used zip ties to hold the crates together, and zip ties to attach them to she shelf as well, so they don't fall on my head! Behind the frame are sizzix alphabets in their plastic boxes (two alphas and one case with two of the 12" strips in it.).

On the shelf below the work top: my Ranger binder, work binder, bin full of melting pots and UTEE stuff, Box of homeless layouts.

Bottom shelf has a bin full of jewlery making items, class stuff,

and class supplies.

I scrap the kids' books in 8.5x11...I need albums! LOL

Jars of fun stuff...these are jars from Macanac Moon...el cheapo from the Meijer store...luv 'em!

Bazzil stitching stuff to the left...my Bon Jovi acrylic book, and another book that I am working on (that one's not done yet)...it's turning out KEWL!

Basket of random stuff....mostly Tim stuff! LOL

Book case that faces the table, kind of separates me from the rest of the room (but I can still see the tv), and leaves room for a kid to pull up a chair. In the boxes on top are envelopes, cards I've made, stamp mounting supplies, and photos.

Top shelf holds Cropper Hopper 4 pocket 'books' with scrapping stuff by theme- football, winter/xmas, summer, spring/easter, birthday, and a few full of collage stuff.

Middle shelf holds my idea tin, books to rip apart, cut n dry foam, and random stuff.

Bottom shelf holds embossing powders, Distress Ink & EP, and the inks I use all the time.

My Work Space, part 1

I have a corner of the basement....we have an air hockey table, tv, and very dusty exercise machine there as well. My table is made from two old doors which rest on 2 file cabinets, in an L shape. Hubby made it for me, and it was free!! I have a lot of old crappy book cases,etc, but it works great!

We are trying to sell our house. have a new one picked out, just waiting for this one to sell! agh! When we move, I will get the attached two card garage and will be buying some nice stuff- however my table will be going with me! I LOVE this thing.

Here is the peg board. I bought some nice boards and used the peg board hooks to make shelves. All the goodies live here. The plastic drawers hold tools and pens and I am working on a kewl cover with pockets for it...it's gonna be awesome.

I ahve been collecting lunchboxes for storage...buying ones from when I was a kid...ya know Cabbage Patch Kids, Pound Puppies, and the like. The little platypus is Ranger. I bought her in NJ when I was at Ranger U. Ain't she cute!!

Isn't this a cute one? owl & words are from Chatterbox...Ink is Ranger (of course). White pen- Ranger. The branches are also Chatterbox. We colored on the stamp with watercolor crayons, spritzed with water, and stamped. Lightly stippled the paper with ink....wanna say Sepia but not certain. The larger square behine hooty was inked and then sprinkled with clear UTEE.

I know this photo looks weird!! The card is a normal A2 card , I swear...will try and re-photo this one!! Anyhoo...the stamps are Paper Artsy. I made a glimmer miset of Tea Dye Distress ink, water, and Perfect Pearl Perfect Pearls (say THAT ten times fast!!) and coated both sides of the paper (this card started out white). Also dyed the lace with the same spray.

Some of the flowers were also sprayed...cool, huh! the house stamp I adore!!! Added some Glossy accents to some of the 'shingles' on the roof.
